Commissioned by Barcelona City Council and with the collaboration of Consorci del Parc de Collserola, this environmental and educational project was started with the aim of recovering the viticulture tradition of that area. The result has been a representative wine of the Mediterranean area.
The vines are in Can Calopa de Dalt, in Barcelona metropolitan area, where years ago there was an agricultural exploitation that had been progressively and partially abandoned in the course of time.
Different Mediterranean varieties representing several Mediterranean coastal regions were planted:
After the blending process, two wines were elaborated:
Vinyes de Barcelona y Vinyes de Collserola
The first vintage was 2003. These wines are offered in official events organised by Barcelona City Council and also for charity auctions.
