The Al Ahram Beverages Company intends to elaborate its own quality wine for the Egyptian market. The grapes are grown in a 52-hectare vineyard in the desert belonging to a winegrower whose efforts are devoted to growing quality grapes. All the property vines are trained in double cordon royat on a double trellising system and obviously an irrigation system.

For Mas Martinet this project is really challenging since it means growing quality grapes in a desert, with sandy soil, lack of rainfall and high temperatures. In fact, the vines are treated as if they were in a hydroponics culture. There are 18 different white and red varieties with a total of 30 clones and 7 different rootstocks.
